I agree w/other reviews, we stayed in Lion's Cove A64; camp host was VERY pleasant to us. If you're unfamiliar w/camping area, I'd sure get here in daylight .. big rigs stay on pavement as sand is soft, and many 'roads' and/or 'loops.' Pads are mostly level but sloped (some steeply) to back-in. Grand views, quail, coyotes, bunnies and we had night-time quiet too.
$9 (w/62+ pass)..best park ever; part of park closes Oct 1. Most all loops have lake view, year round loop has waterfront, no sewer but dump at COE office on top of the hill. I don't rate *10 often, but this is THE park. Covered tables, fire pit, separate grill + cook table (neat feature), only downside: some sites aren't level enough for us 40'-MoHo's w/o taking a tire off ground. Big 5ths OK since axles are together. Peak season probably needs reservations. We'll be back and stay longer here!
Agree w/last review. About 7-10 miles from anywhere so the PARK is it for entertainment OK for quiet though. Road is paved but narrow getting there w/big rig .. for close-in use Ft Supply COE Park ..its great!
Nice little city park behind zoo..go to zoo, but Left instead of the zoo parking lot. NE has lots of cheap, nice city parks ..check 'em out. Paved pathways for exercise and friendly town. We opted for 1 night, and stayed 2 to explore!
Quiet park in Sept. Level, big rigs OK, shade and good fishing (even from the docks..catfish) $9 w/62+ pass. Will be here again. A perfect example of COE parks!
Well, it takes a lot to be a Corp of Engineers park ($9 w/62+pass) and each one is better than the last. Paved access, gravel-level sites for big rigs. Room to roam, lake views (some are on the lake) only few water sites, but many w/ele. Quiet, Week ends a bit busier but still room, Relax and watch!
